~ Our Gateway to the Caribbean...
We arrived in Ft Lauderdale a day early and Jim took
a dip in the pool before dinner.
On the quarter-mile walk to the restaurant we saw this very odd duck ~ she's hiding a couple of ducklings from us!
Getting ready to board the Emerald Princess...
Our cabin, on a deck near the top and in the center of the ship, was wonderful...with a spectacular view from the balcony...And, of course, the signature seashell folding of the towels!!
These are views from our balcony on the Emerald Princess in Fort Lauderdale Port as we embarked on our cruise!

The Emerald Princess is beautiful and offers marvelous details to delight the eye...
Since it was the week after Thanksgiving, we got to watch the atrium be transformed with Christmas decorations...And Chanukah was observed with the lighting of the menorah.
Art was on display for the auctions that were held on days we were at sea
Entertainment was offered in the theatre, lounges and in the atrium...

Preparing the champagne fountain...from one of the glass elevators
Of course there's always BINGO
...And sometimes someone yells "BINGO" by mistake and then we get to see the "Chicken Dance"!!!
There are also the quiet times when you can just sit on the balcony, enjoy the sounds of the waves and read...
...and formal nights when we're at sea.
