~ Our Gateway to the Caribbean...
arrived in Ft Lauderdale the day before the cruise and walked to a Ruby Tuesday a few blocks from the Holiday Inn Express.
the way we saw these very colorful ducks.
While we waited for our bags to be brought to our stateroom on Aloha Deck 12 near the top of the Crown Princess, we went to the Promenade Deck 7 and walked around the ship. We watched other cruise ships and enjoyed the scenes of port activity. It was a hazy day which gave everything that soft-around-the-edges look.
Okay, so it's not beauteous, but here's the luggage being readied to come on board.
We got back to our cabin...our bags were waiting.
are views from our balcony on the Crown Princess in Fort Lauderdale
Port as we embarked on our cruise! Port Everglades is the busiest cruise port in the world.
Of course we had the required emergency/life-jacket drill...
After the drill we all got on elevators to return to our cabins ~ VERY crowded elevators!
After we stopped on one deck, a lady on the other side at the back of the elevator
began laughing. We all looked at her quizzically and she explained:
She had suddenly realized her husband was no longer on the elevator!
Apparently, he had gotten off and she had missed their deck.
She said she thought the situation was funny but she told us
her husband wouldn't find it funny at all which made her laugh all the more!
All of us on the elevator joined her in her mirth...She was delightful!!
